Tech Items and General Safety
All karts and Microstocks must be safety teched before entering the raceway. Safety tech is ensuring that your vehicle is within the safety regulations. NOT LEGAL is the responsibility of the competitor. No metal body parts are allowed on any go-kart. Aluminum or Plexiglas bodies on Microstocks with no sharp or jagged edges. ALL competitors are required to wear full face helmets, minimal 2000 Snell approved, neck supports, gloves, abrasive resistant jacket or suit, and ankle high leather boots or shoes. All kids 12 and under are to wear a chest protector.
All competitors in caged vehicles are required to wear arm restraints and have a 5-point belt system harness in their vehicle. Arm restraints are mandatory and must attach to driver restraint lap belt and the other end should be attached between the wrist and elbow of each arm. ALL seat belt systems not to be over 3 years of age. Microstock and all cage kart drivers are required to wear fire-resistant racing suits, tops and bottoms. Seat belt mounting procedures are located in the WKA tech manual. Any vehicle founds to be unsafe will not be allowed to compete. Hamlock seat belts are not permitted.
The tech officials have the right to change the safety requirements to ensure the safety of the competitors and spectators.
CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!
Penalties will be decided by the tech inspectors or a tech inspector and the promoters.
WKA rules will be used in classes except where noted. Microstock modified class will run open 4 cycle rules as founds in the WKA rule book section 711.
The guidelines for safety inspections can be founds in the WKA tech manual or if in question, ask the tech inspector. We reserve the right to change safety requirements as we feel necessary to ensure safety. ALL VEHICLES will be required to have WKA approved mufflers and must be properly installed and removable so they can be inspected. Loss of a muffler or running a loose muffler will result in disqualification. Safety wiring of header bolts is mandatory in 4 cycle classes. All competitors are subject to fuel tech by means of a water test or hydrometer test. NO ADDITIVES will be allowed. Oil is also subject to tech by means of a beeper and/or flash test. NO flammable or oxygen bearing additives are allowed. Tire prep is not recommended.
**Anyone found in violation of track tech or protest will be disqualified for the night in all classes competed in with that vehicle plus they will lose all points and awards for that night**
♦ 1st Offense: Anyone seen fighting or using foul language will be disqualified for that night in all classes and will lose all money awards and points for that night. Racers will also start in the rear of the heat & feature for the next three (3) race weeks, but will receive money and points awards.
♦ 2nd Offense: Driver will start in the rear of the heat and feature for an additional four (4) weeks, but will receive all money and points.
♦ 3rd Offense: Your fate will rest in the hands of the track management.
Protesting a competitor is achieved by contacting a track official as soon as the competition has ended.
Complete Motor Inspection: $150.00
Carburetor, Head and Fuel Inspection: $50.00
For all go-kart classes, chassis specifications can be found in the WKA rule book under speedway division regulations. Microstock chassis will be taken from the last know active Microstock organization. If a competitor refuses tech you will loose all points for all classes competed in with that vehicle and you are not to race the following week at all. When you come back, you may be teched again.
